Sunday Dinner with the Bennums

We recently drove to Athens, GA to have Sunday Dinner with the Bennums, who both grew up in Washington near Pete and are now living near Athens, teaching school and coaching. They have two little girls, around the ages of 5 and 3, and it was fun for me to finally meet them (we've been meaning to get together since we moved to Atlanta). It was also very refreshing to get out of the city. We went on a Sunday walk, and there was grass! Sadly, we don't play near or see that nice green stuff too often. The weather was perfect, and we had fun chatting. There aren't too many die-hard Huskies fans around these parts, so Pete enjoyed some sports talk with Jeff :)

I'm pretty sure this was Emery's first discovery of dandelions and it made me pretty happy (and feel like we need to get out of the city more).

Cheyenne was teaching Emery how to blow on the dandelions and make a wish.

Emery took a little while warming up to Berkeley and Cheyenne, but had a great time playing with them once she did. And now, about every other day, she excitedly asks me, "Mom, remember Broccoli and Cheyenne?!" :)
